Growth Habits: Shrub, 4 to 8 feet tall (1.2-2.4 m); reddish young branches and petioles ; oblong to ovate leaves, up to 6 inches long (15 cm), with 3 to 7 rounded serrate lobes;

Watering Needs: Abundant water

Propagation: Seeds or cuttings

Furnishes a jute-like fiber.

Blooming Habits:
Short-lived white or mauve flowers, 2 inches in diameter (5 cm) with masses of yellow stamen.

Fruiting Habits:
Pale green hairy capsules, 2 inches long (5 cm).
