Growth Habits: Fast growing but short-lived deciduous tree, upright, up to 40 feet tall (12 m), 25 feet spread (7.5 m); glabrous stems; alternate, narrow lanceolate, bright green, leaves, 2 to 6 inches long (5-15 cm), with serrated margins, glabrous underside

Watering Needs: Abundant water, tolerates salt and wet soils

by semi-hardwood secondary cuttings. Use intermittent mist. Root in 4-10 weeks.

Cultivars:

'Golden Curls' - twisted, yellowish stems, shrubbier than 'Tortuosa'.
'Navajo' - Globe Willow - rounded cultivar, up to 50 feet tall and wide (15 m).
'Tortuosa' - narrow, upright cultivar, very contorted and twisted shape.
'Umbraculifera' - smaller cultivar, similar to 'Navajo' in shape.
