The Larkspurs commonly found in gardens are hybrids of Delphinium elatum. They flower from midspring to late spring in Phoenix, later in the rest of the country. The summer heats generally kill the larkspurs in May in Phoenix.
Culture:
The Larkspurs like a rather alkaline, humus-rich soil. Fertilize regularly, and mulch in summer. They are sensitive to mites, black spot and powdery mildew. In Phoenix, sow starting in September.
