The fruit can be eaten like nuts. Very young leaves can be eaten in salad, while later they can also be cooked.
Blooming Habits:
Soft blue to violet-blue flowers (occasionally white), with 2 yellow spots, in a terminal spike up to 6 inches long (15cm), from June to October.
