Origin: North America

Growth Habits: Perennial, 2 to 3 feet tall depending on variety (60 to 90 cm)

Flowers: White, light orange, pink, purple, violet or blue flowers

Watering Needs: Abundant water in summer, moderate water the rest of the year. Do not wet the leaves

Propagation: Clump division in spring, tip cuttings in summer, root cuttings, does not grow true from seed

Most cultivars of Border Phlox are cultivars of Phlox paniculata and of Phlox maculata.

Blooming Habits:
The summer phlox has fragrant flowers in clusters, that come in summer, and then every so often until November.

Culture:
Divide your Summer Phlox every couple of years, and check them for powdery mildew and spider mites after mid summer. Summer Phlox like moist, well drained, rich soils. They need less water when kept in light shade. Phlox are very sensitive to nematode infestation.
