Growth Habits: Perennial, 18 to 40 inches tall (45-120 cm), 2 feet spread (60 cm); stems densely prickly, producing a heavy sap when damaged; leaves with deep notches, and main veins with prickles

Watering Needs: Little to moderate water

Propagation: Seeds in autumn, they can take several months to germinate

'Purity' is a selected variety with very white flowers.

Blooming Habits:
The Argemone squarrosa bears single white flowers, 3 to 4.5 inches in diameter (8-11 cm), with 6 wrinkled petals and a yellow center.

Culture:
Deadhead to prolong flowering.
