Origin: Africa, also Himalayas and western China
Growth Habits: Slow-growing, evergreen, upright shrub, 4 to 8 feet (1.2-2.4 m) tall, 30 inches spread (75 cm); dark red stems; glossy dark green, aromatic, roundish leaves, 0.5 to 0.75 inch long (12-18 mm).
Watering Needs: Moderate water, well drained soil
Propagation: Seed or heeled cuttings in summer
Fruiting Habits:
Pale blue berries, 0.25 inch in diameter (6 mm), on female plants.
