Growth Habits: Onion-like bulbs, 3 feet tall (90 cm); strap-like, blue-green leaves, 18 inches long (45 cm), 2 inches wide

Watering Needs: Ample water, good drainage, fertile soil, rich in humus.

 Another onion similar to Allium giganteum, a bit smaller

Cultural Practices:
Plant the bulbs in the fall, 2 to 3 inches deep (5-7.5 cm), in groups 6-8 inches apart (15-20 cm)

Blooming Habits:
Globose flower clusters, 3 to 5 inches in diameter (7-12 cm) of rose to purple flowers, in late spring-early summer, on 2 to 3 feet long stems (60-90 cm). They are excellent as cut flowers, and dry bouquets.
