Growth Habits: Evergreen tree, fast-growing 60 to 80 feet tall (18-24 m), occasionally up to 120 feet (36 m), 35 feet spread (10 m); trunk up to 5 feet in diameter (1.5 m); thin brownish-gray bark; leaves glossy dark green above, pale below, 3 to 6 inches long (7.5-15 cm)
Flowers: Light yellow or greenish flowers
Watering Needs: Needs abundant water and good drainage, gets chlorotic in alkaline soils
Propagation: Seeds (acorns)
Fruiting Habits:
The acorns are 0.5 inch long (1.2 cm), maturing after 2 years.
