Growth Habits: Tree to 30 m tall; Branchlets, phyllodes and petioles glabrous or slightly scurfy; dark green leaf-like phyllodes, up to 12 inches long (30 cm), 2 to 4 inches wide (5-10 cm), with (3 to)4 main parallel nerves.

Blooming Habits:
The Mangium bears attractive mildly scented, white rod-like flower-heads, 2.5 to 4 inches long (6-10 cm), white, sparse, on hairy peduncles about 0.4 inch long (1 cm).
Fruiting Habits:
Tightly coiled dehiscent pod.
