The edible, nearly round, fruits are usually 4 to 8 inches in diameter (10-20 cm), light brown with a thick grayish - brown skin. The orange pulp is often eaten fresh out of hand, or used in dishes such as salads or cooked. The fruits contain up to 4 brown ovoid seeds.
