Pick spent flowers to keep the carnation blooming longer. Cutting side flower shoots will make the central bud grow in a larger flower. Carnations are excellent as cut flowers.

Culture:
The carnations prefer a soil slightly alkaline. They require excellent drainage. Addition of humus is good for large flowers hybrids.
