Origin: Bolivia: Yungas and Inquisivi provinces of La Paz Department, at elevations of around 6600 feet (2000m.)

Stem: 2.4 to 2.8 inches wide (6 to 7 cm.), up to 16.7 feet long (5 m.), cylindrical

Ribs: 6 to 10 ribs

Central spines: 4 to 12, 0.6 to 1.2 inches long (1.5 to 3 cm.), undifferentiated between radial and central spines

Radial spines: None
