Sun Exposure: Light shade
Origin: Costa Rica, close to sea level
Growth Habits: Hanging epiphyte, using its aerial roots to hold to the tree, stems flattened, leaf-like with a wavy edge, 1 to 1.2 feet long (30-36 cm), 2 to 4 inches wide (5-10 cm), 0.2 inch thick (5 mm); very small areoles bearing a single small spine.
Blooming Habits:
Nocturnal white flowers in summer, sepals tinged reddish, stamen filaments white. The flower turns brown and slimy after fertilization. The fruits are deepy ridged
