Growth Habits: Solitary cactus, greyish-green stem, 4 inches wide (10 cm), 18 inches tall (45 cm); up to 40 prominent ribs; close set areoles; 2 spines, 0.8 inch long (2 cm)
Although not recognized by Anderson, Uebelmannia gummifera subsp. meninensis is considered a valid subspecies by the CITES document.
Blooming Habits:
The diurnal yellow flowers come sporadically. They are up to 0.8 to 1.6 inches long (2-4 cm), 0.8 to 1.6 inches in diameter (2-4 cm).
