Origin: Brazil (Minas Gerais: Serra do Espihaço)
Growth Habits: Solitary cactus, stems greener than the type, up to 7 inches wide (17 cm), 3 feet tall (90 cm), over 23 ribs; close set areoles; 1 to 4 central spines, up to 0.6 inch long (1.5 cm), the spines are more spreading and doesn't give the comb-like effect of the type
Blooming Habits:
The diurnal yellow flowers come sporadically. They are 0.6 inch long (15 mm), 0.5 inch in diameter (12 mm).
