Growth Habits: Climbing or clambering, with greyish woody main stems, with many ramifications; growing stems are light green, 0.8 inches in diameter (2 cm), with a conical tubercle between the areoles; 4 ribs; young stems have a few silky white spines up to 0.24 inch (6 mm), fewer brown ones in older stems

Blooming Habits:
Large white flowers, with outside segments light green, 10 to 12 inches long or more, followed by edible, spiny ovoid, greenish fruits
