Growth Habits: Climbing stems, 0.8 to 1 inch in diameter (2-2.5 cm), 5 to 8 ribs; areoles 0.4 to 0.6 in. (1-1.5 cm), with witish felt and hair; 7 to 11 needle-like spines, 0.16 to 0.4 in. long (4-10 mm), yellowish turning grey as they age

Blooming Habits:
White flowers 6 to 8 inches long or more, with outside segment yellowish. They have a spherical tuberculate ovary, covered with 0.4 inch long silky spines (1 cm) and yellowish hairs. The edible fruit is light yellow with a reddish tinge, 2-3 inches long (5-8 cm)
