Wright's Fishhook Cactus
Scientific Name: Sclerocactus wrightiae L.D.Benson
Synonym: Ferocactus wrightiae, Pediocactus wrightiae

Origin: Southern Utah
Growth Habits: Usually solitary, stems 2 to 3.6 inches tall (5-9 cm), 1.6 to 3.2 inches in diameter (4-8 cm); about 13 tubercled ribs; spines not obscuring the stem; 1 to 4 central spines, the lower normally hooked, 0.4 to 0.8 inch long (1-2 cm); 8 to 11 white radial spines, 0.2 to 0.5 inch long (5-12 mm).
Blooming Habits:
Yellowish to pinkish narrow vase-shaped flowers with darker midstripes, 0.8 to 1.4 inches long, up to 0.8 inch in diameter (2 cm). The fruit is ellipsoid, 0.4 to 0.5 inch long (9-12 mm) containing black seeds.
