Growth Habits: Solitary cylindrical cactus, up to 8 inches tall (20 cm), 3 inches in diameter (8 cm); 13 ribs; one central spine, hooked; 7 or 8 reddish radials
Watering Needs: Little to no water in winter
Blooming Habits:
Diurnal, brownish red flowers in mid-summer, 0.8 to 1.6 inches long (2-4 cm), up to 1.2 inches in diameter (3 cm).
