Origin: Mexico (Guerrero, México, Morelos, Oaxaca, Puebla)

Growth Habits: Shrub, up to 12 feet tall (3.6 m); trunk up to 3 feet tall (1.5 m), 8 inches in diameter (20 cm); round or elliptical mucronate leaves, up to 2 inches wide (5 cm); usually 1 large whitish spine, 2.4 to 4 inches long (6-10 cm).


Blooming Habits:
Reddish yellow flowers, 1.2 inches in diameter (3 cm); red fruits.
