Origin: Central Mexico
Growth Habits: Solitary columnar stems, up to 20 feet tall (7 m), 6 to 16 inches in diameter (15 to 40 cm); 13 to 25 narrow ribs, 0.8 inch high (2 cm); areoles 0.8 inch apart (2 cm), with yellowish felt; 1 (to 4) central; 5 to 9 radials, up to 0.8 inch long (2 cm)
Blooming Habits:
Nocturnal greenish white flowers, slightly scented, in summer, 2.2 inches long (5.5 cm), 1.4 inches in diameter (3.5 cm). The fruit is globose, 2 inches in diameter (5 cm) with black seeds
