Origin: Southwestern Arizona (USA), northeastern Sonora, down to around the city of Caborca (Mexico)
Growth Habits: Clustering, cylindrical stems, up to 4 inches tall (10 cm), 1 to 1.4 inches wide (2.5-3.5 cm); tubercles conical to cylindrical, 0.2 inch long and wide (5 mm); axils bare; areoles without wool; 1 to 3 stiff hooked central spines, 0.7 inch long (18 mm); 13 to 20 smooth acicular straight radials, 0.2 to 0.3 inch long (5-7 mm).
Blooming Habits:
Purplish pink, 1.2 inch long (3 cm), 0.8 inch in diameter (2 cm). Red club-shaped juicy fruit, 0.32 to 0.4 inch long (8-10 mm)
