Growth Habits: Clumping, forming large groups, pale green stems, 4 to 8 inches in diameter (10-20 cm), over 16 inches tall (40 cm); 13 sharp ribs, occasionally wavy; areoles with grey wool, 0.8 inch apart (2 cm); 4 central spines, often unequal, 2 to 3.2 inches long (5-8 cm); 14 to 20 radials, light yellow at first, turning gray as they age, 0.8 inch long (2 cm).
Watering Needs: Little to no water when established
Blooming Habits:
The flowers are funnel shaped, yellow to red, 1.2 inches long (4 cm). They come in late winter.
