Origin: Southern Brazil to Argentina
Growth Habits: Solitary or clustering, cylindrical stems, up to 12 inches tall (30 cm), 6 inches in diameter (15 cm); 11 to 18 ribs, not tuberculate; circular areoles with white or tan wool, 0.4 inches apart (1 cm); 12 to 18 short spines, generally less than 0.3 inch (8 mm)
