Origin: Mexico, coastal Sonora: endemic to San Pedro Nolasco Island
Growth Habits: Basally clumping, long stems, up to 24 inches tall (60 cm), 3.2 inches in diameter (8 cm); 14 to 18 low ribs sometimes tuberculate; areoles close-set; 6 to 8 needle-like central spines, 0.4 inch long (1 cm); 14 to 18 radials.
