Growth Habits: Propagating using underground stolons, greyish green stems up to 6 inches tall (15 cm), 2.4 to 3.2 inches in diameter (6-8 cm); 14-16 ribs; areoles 0.2 inch apart (5 mm), the young ones have brown felt; 3 to 5 central spines, one longer in the lower part of the areole; 10 to 12 radials

Yellow flowers. Red fruitm, very spiny.
