Growth Habits: Clumping cactus forming large colonies of several hundred heads, each head up to 12 inches long (30 cm), 3.5 inches in diameter (9 cm), 10 to 13 ribs; 1 to 4 central spines, up to 3 inches long (7.5 cm); 7-14 radials, up to 1.2 inches long (3 cm)
Blooming Habits:
Abundant large purple flowers in late spring, up to 5 inches in diameter (12.5 cm).
