Origin: USA (Arizona: Pima County), Mexico (Sonora: Sierra del Viejo)

Growth Habits: Clumping loosely up to 20 stems, each stem, up to 24 inches tall (60 cm), 2.4 to 3.6 inches in diameter (6-9 cm); 10 to 14 ribs; tubercles not prominent; large circular areoles; spines obscuring the stem; 4 to 6 central spines, 1 to 3 inches long (2.5 to 7.5 cm); 6 to 12 radials, 0.5 to 1 inch long (12-25 mm)

Blooming Habits:
Pale lavender to crimson flowers, 2.5 inches in diameter (6 cm), in March-April. The globose fruit is green at first, turning red as it ripens, 1 to 1.4 inches in diameter (2.5-3.5 cm)
