Echinocereus bristolii


Scientific Name: Echinocereus bristolii W.T.Marshall
Synonym: Echinocereus pectinatus var. bristolii
Family: Cactaceae

Origin: Limited distribution in Mexico (Sonora: Soyopa)

Growth Habits: Solitary, or occasionally with 2 or 3 stems, cylindrical, 4 to 12 inches tall (10-30 cm), 2.4 to 4 inches in diameter (6-10 cm); 15 to 22 ribs; elliptical areoles, about 0.2 inch long (5 mm); 2 to 5 central spines, 0.3 to 0.5 inch long (8-12 mm); 7-15 thin pinkish radials, 0.2 to 0.4 inch long (5-10 mm).


Blooming Habits:
Purplish red flowers, 2 to 3 inches in diameter (5-7.5 cm).
