Growth Habits: Basally branching, columnar stems up to 10 feet tall (3 m), stems 6 inches wide (15 cm); 6 to 10 ribs; woolly areoles 1 in. apart (2.5 cm); spines, about 15, 0.4 to 3.2 or more inches long (1 to 8 cm)
