Watering Needs: Tolerates wet soils, needs ample water
Propagation: Seeds, or softwood cuttings under mist
Might get chlorosis in vary alkaline soils. It can be used for hedges.
Blooming Habits:
Catkin-like flowers, the males are drooping, 3 to 5 inches long (7-12 cm), females are erect 1 to 1.2 inches long (2.5-3 cm). The female catkins turn into a small cone, persistant in winter.
