Blooming Habits:
In Phoenix, the Blanket Flower blooms from March until the end of November. Depending on the location, and watering, it will stop blooming during the summer heat and look pretty beat up, then restart in September. The Gaillardia bloom is a good cut flower. Remove faded blooms to encourage further flowering, and trim back regularly to prevent it from becoming weedy.
Culture:
Sow indoor at 70 to 85°F (21 to 29°C). Plant 6 week seedlings 12 inches apart (30 cm), or sow in place. Do well in sandy, well drained soil.
