The name comes from the red sap of this tree that was sold as 'Dragon's Blood' and was said to be used by the ancient Egyptian during the embalming process. It was considered and was part of any witchcraft toolkit.

Clusters of greenish-white flowers at the end of the branches, followed by orange berries.
Culture:
The dragon trees tend to stay unbranched for many years before expanding as a tree.
